Roam, the leading decentralized wireless network, has launched its Token Reversal Pool, a new feature available in the Roam app. This tool allows users to exchange $ROAM tokens for Roam Points, increasing participation options after the TGE. Conversion rates vary dynamically based on the averages of the General and Sticker Burning Pools, marking a key update for $ROAM holders.
This launch adds to Roam's deflationary strategy and follows its successful debut on 12 major exchanges in March 2025.
The Token Reversal Pool allows converting $ROAM tokens into Roam Points, with 97% of the exchanged tokens burned immediately, reducing the circulating supply. This strategy reinforces the bidirectional burning mechanism, maintaining long-term value stability.
To convert Roam Points into $ROAM, users can use the three burning pools: General, Miner, and Sticker. The General Pool is available to everyone and uses points earned from app missions. The Miner Pool, exclusive to miner owners like the Rainier MAX60, offers higher rates with mining or Check-In points. The Sticker Pool, which provides better rates depending on the rarity of collected stickers, allows users to obtain more tokens by converting and burning points in this system.
In addition to the Token Reversal Pool, Roam introduces the Staking Pool and Lock-Up Pool, providing incentives for $ROAM holders. These features reduce the token's circulation speed and can boost its value.
The Staking Pool rewards users who lock $ROAM:
- Regular users receive 50% APY.
- Miner owners access an exclusive pool with 200% returns.
- An Accelerator Boost increases returns by 20%-30% for certain stakers.
The Lock-Up Pool offers free eSIM data in exchange for locking $ROAM for 28 days:
- 100 $ROAM unlocks 5 GB per month.
- 200 $ROAM provides 12 GB per month.
- 500 $ROAM grants 30 GB per month.
The utility of $ROAM continues to expand after its listing on exchanges like Bybit and KuCoin. Soon, it will enable credit card payments, token swaps with Discovery projects, and purchases of phone numbers and eSIM data.
Roam's tokenomics model, based on Solana, has a supply of 1 billion $ROAM and an adjustable emission rate based on user activity. Through Check-Ins and other factors, the token release pace adapts dynamically, promoting scarcity. In January 2025, the Pilot Burning Pool eliminated 25% of points accumulated over 19 months in just ten days, reinforcing this deflationary model.
With 2.7 million users and over 2.4 million WiFi nodes in 190 countries, Roam leads the DePIN sector, establishing itself as one of the main decentralized infrastructure networks.
