In this article, we present THINK-AND-EXECUTE, an algorithmic reasoning framework that generates logic to solve a given task in the form of pseudocode and carries out reasoning by simulating the execution of said pseudocode using language models. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate the effectiveness of THINK-AND-EXECUTE compared to other advanced methodologies. These results highlight not only the usefulness of pseudocode in improving the reasoning capabilities of language models, but also the efficiency of our approach in uncovering high-quality logic behind a given task.
