Before you begin Keep in mind that menu names may vary depending on the model and firmware version. If you cannot find an exact match, look for keywords such as privacy, data, ads, content recognition, or viewing information in the TV's settings search.
LG webOS approximately 10 presses 1 Access the Settings menu from the remote. 2 Select All Settings. 3 Go to General or Privacy and Security depending on your model. 4 Look for the option related to data collection or Content Recognition Service. 5 Disable viewing information collection. 6 Confirm the deactivation if the system asks for confirmation. 7 Return to the main menu and restart the TV to make sure the changes are applied.
Samsung Tizen approximately 22 presses 1 Press the Home button on the remote. 2 Open Settings. 3 Go to General. 4 Access Device Management or Privacy. 5 If it exists, go to Terms and Policies. 6 Locate Viewing Information Services. 7 Disable the option. 8 Also look for Ad Settings or Interest-Based Personalization and disable it. 9 Restart the TV to apply the changes.
Android TV and Google TV approximately 37 presses 1 From the home screen, access Settings. 2 Go to Device or Device Preferences. 3 Look for Privacy or Security. 4 Locate the sections Usage Labels, Data and Ad Personalization, or Automatic Content Recognition. 5 Disable viewing data collection and ad personalization. 6 Review app permissions to limit access to the microphone and usage data. 7 Restart the device to confirm that ACR is disabled.
Additional tips - Update the TV firmware to have the latest privacy options. - Disable microphone use if you do not use voice commands. - Review the options of each streaming app, as some apps have their own telemetry settings. - If you want a more technical solution, you can block telemetry domains from your router or use a DNS that filters trackers. - Consult the manufacturer's privacy policy to understand what data is collected and for how long it is retained.
