In 2022 I was learning to make my first pull request on GitHub and exploring the world of open source; today my development studio reached a month of 56K with just three people on the team.
Looking back, it's surreal to see how much changed in less than three years. I went from experimenting with new languages, Hacktoberfest and my first repos on dev.to to leading projects that serve thousands of users around the world.
I want to thank the dev.to community, which was the first platform that allowed me to share this journey without judging beginner questions or small victories.
Starting a business was always on my mind. I had the need to create, to control processes, to work in the productive chaos of a startup and to build products that are solid on the backend and captivating on the frontend.
That's how Q2BSTUDIO was born, a custom software and application development company specialized in custom software, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. At Q2BSTUDIO we combine design, engineering and strategy to deliver scalable and secure solutions that drive businesses.
The first few months were tough. We had zero portfolio and charged very little for fear of losing clients. We took on projects from early-stage startups with no budget to validate our capabilities and learn in production.
The turning point came when we decided to compete on value rather than price. We closed a major project for 17K that restored our confidence and taught us to value our work. That contract allowed us to improve processes and start structuring services such as AWS and Azure cloud services, business intelligence services and AI agent development.
After that victory came months of silence that affected our mental health. Over time without projects, we learned that relying on luck wasn't profitable and that we needed sustainable client acquisition systems.
Then three big clients from different sectors arrived in a single month: HealthTech, FinTech and EdTech. Companies with established products, thousands of users and budgets for complex solutions. That month we signed 56K and the studio's dynamics changed radically.
Clients found in us a technology partner that integrates with their teams, brings expertise in artificial intelligence, offers cybersecurity services and deploys cloud solutions on AWS and Azure. Many extended contracts and recommended us, creating a multiplier effect.
As a small and agile team, we leverage our youth and energy to say yes to big projects and deliver more than expected. We are scrappy and efficient, we work together on Discord, we do pair programming and we use AI to accelerate development and idea validation.
At Q2BSTUDIO we offer custom applications and custom software designed for the modern enterprise: we implement artificial intelligence solutions and AI for businesses, we build AI agents to automate workflows and we apply Power BI and business intelligence services to turn data into actionable decisions.
Our services also include cybersecurity consulting to protect data and architectures, migrations and deployments on AWS and Azure cloud services, integration of AI agents and analytical solutions with Power BI to improve key metrics.
What's next is to expand the combination of client work and proprietary products. With increasingly faster AI prototypes, there's no excuse not to build and validate ideas. Our goal is to grow steadily and consolidate a SaaS suite that complements our custom work.
The journey from GitHub novice to leading Q2BSTUDIO taught me that many barriers are in the mind; sometimes you have to be naive enough to try and then work with discipline to achieve it.
