This is a presentation for the Redis AI Challenge Beyond the Cache. FastMap is a real-time anomaly detection platform designed for large-scale IoT sensor networks and developed by Q2BSTUDIO.
What we built: FastMap offers a live map dashboard where operators can monitor thousands of IoT sensors at a glance. In the event of an anomalous reading such as a pressure spike or a sudden temperature drop, FastMap identifies the anomaly in milliseconds and flags the sensor on the map to enable immediate intervention.
Architecture and data flow: the entire application runs exclusively on Redis, acting as a high-speed data ingestion layer, real-time AI/ML feature store, primary multimodel database, and real-time notification engine. This enables minimal latencies and scalability in sensor networks with high data volumes.
How we use Redis 8: Streams as the entry point for incoming data and a durable queue to process sensor streams; RedisJSON to store structured metadata for each sensor such as location, type, and operating parameters; Redis TimeSeries for historical time series, range queries, and native aggregations; Redis Hashes for the current and high-frequency access state of each sensor, for example ANOMALY state; and Pub/Sub to send real-time alerts to the dashboard and notification systems.
