I am a heavy user of artificial intelligence tools for coding, and for certain tasks, especially those involving visual changes, my prompts started becoming absurdly long.
At first, I described everything in text, then I began attaching screenshots, and over time I saw people editing images with arrows to explain exactly what they wanted.
One day, I thought about how I could simply show what I want instead of describing it, so I started experimenting with video. At first, it was for fun, as a response to those messages that said, hey, here's a detail, but I didn't expect great results.
But at one point, I discovered a way to make the AI understand those videos incredibly well, often better than with my carefully crafted prompts and their associated images. From that idea, I built a small tool called Nitpicks, available at nitpicks.ai, which allows you to record your screen via a Chrome extension while you explain a bug, an improvement, or a new feature, and automatically get a pull request on GitHub with the proposed code changes.
This has been especially useful in product teams where not everyone codes; people can simply show what they want, and the fix or improvement appears in minutes. I am still refining the tool and am very interested in hearing opinions and real-world use cases.
