How much does artificial intelligence consulting cost and is it worth it?
Artificial intelligence consulting can vary greatly in price depending on the complexity of the project, the size of the company, and the consultant's experience. As a rough reference, the average cost of hiring an AI consultant typically ranges between €8,000 and €25,000. Although it may seem like a significant investment, the advantages in operational efficiency, customization of products and services, and improved decision-making usually justify the expense.
In Spain, there are already clear cases of return on investment. According to the Gartner Q1 2025 report, 75% of companies in the Poblenou technology hub in Barcelona have reported cost savings and new revenue streams thanks to AI integration. Companies in the Cuatro Torres district of Madrid have observed similar results after adopting solutions recommended by consultants.
Types of AI consulting services typically offered: data analysis, development of custom AI models, system implementation, process automation, team training, and deployment of AI agents for specific tasks. Current trends focus on process automation, improving customer experience, and developing innovative solutions that integrate artificial intelligence and cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
Practical frequently asked questions: a custom ERP is a personalized system that adapts processes to the company's needs and typically costs between €20,000 and €100,000 depending on scope. There are different types of custom applications, including mobile, web, and enterprise software, each with its own development requirements. The average maintenance cost of an app varies, but many developers charge between €45 and €85 per hour for maintenance services.
