Mobile devices with Internet access are becoming increasingly widespread among Spaniards. And they are changing habits when it comes to consumption. On this occasion, it is a study carried out by Entradas.com that reveals the spectacular increase in the use of these devices in an ecommerce sector as important as leisure. This study on leisure consumption habits during the second half of 2013 shows that mobile devices lead queries in this field, with growth of over 60% compared to the same period in 2012. This growth also affects the purchase of leisure tickets. In fact, it does so more significantly, since purchase via mobile phones has seen an increase of almost 190%, and 40% for tablets. The increase in leisure ticket purchases from mobile devices does not run parallel to that of purchases via the Internet. The latter fell by 7% during the second half of last year compared to the same period in 2012. A decline due, above all, to the drop in cinema ticket sales, which have decreased by 34%. Online purchases of tickets for shows such as musicals are rising, however, having recorded an increase of 34%, despite the higher average ticket value. Thus, it is not surprising that the average ticket price has increased by almost 24%, going from 26 to 32 euros. By type of show, concerts are the events planned furthest in advance: tickets are purchased 38 days before they take place, on average. Next are musicals, with 34 days, and sporting events, with 33 days in advance. Tickets for exhibitions and theme parks are bought 22 days before, theater 13 days, and cinema, on the other hand, is the favorite of latecomers: tickets are bought at the last minute, according to Ecommerce News. As for average spending on shows, the highest is on musical tickets, at 177 euros for three tickets, according to the study. These are followed by theater (74 euros, also for three tickets), concerts (71 euros), sports (64 euros), exhibitions and theme parks (42 euros), and cinema (21 euros). By day, more musical tickets are bought on Mondays; sports on Tuesdays; concerts and exhibitions on Thursdays; theater on Fridays; and, finally, more cinema tickets are bought on Saturdays.
