Cybersecurity researchers have warned about an ongoing malicious campaign targeting the Go ecosystem. This strategy uses modules with names similar to legitimate libraries in order to deploy malware on Linux and Apple macOS systems.

The malicious actor has published at least seven packages that mimic popular Go libraries, including github[.]com/shallowmulti/hypert, which appears to target developers in the financial sector.

These attacks demonstrate the importance of establishing strict security measures in software development and dependency management, to avoid the execution of potentially harmful code on enterprise systems.
