The link portals for movie downloads and streaming PeliculasYonkis and SeriesYonkis seem to have now removed all free links to copyright-protected content during this past weekend, the first of March. The decision has surprised everyone, as we have seen from the reactions on social media. It is an initiative on the part of the Government that conditioned the sector, so its administrators have decided to act of their own accord and remove the links. One of the most powerful download websites on the planet has removed its links. Sudden decision. The link portals for movie downloads and 'streaming' PeliculasYonkis and SeriesYonkis SeriesYonkis have blocked all their links to direct downloads of TV series and movies. The decision by the website owned by Burn Media SL was made this past Friday and since then it has not allowed the use of all the links that appear on its portal. According to ElMundo.es, this decision is not due to judicial causes. Let us remember that there is currently an open criminal proceeding against SeriesYonkis opened on June 2, 2008, motivated by a complaint in the month of May of that same year. At the same time, according to the aforementioned media outlet, no judge has ordered the blocking measure that occurred on the last day of February. SeriesYonkis has not apparently suffered any malfunction or hack that has prompted this change, so it is due exclusively to a decision by those responsible. At this point, various judicial sources have informed ElMundo.es that this past February 11 the Prosecutor's Office requested from the server hosting them the precautionary closure of the sites SeriesYonkis, PeliculasYonkis and VideosYonkis, before the Court of Instruction number 1 of Murcia, which is in charge of handling the ongoing criminal case. The web portal was created by Alberto García Sola in 2007, who sold it in 2009 to Burn Media SL, which is the company that currently owns the portal along with PeliculasYonkis and VideosYonkis. David Martínez and Jordi Tamargo, the company's cofounders, sold their stake in 2012. It should also be remembered that the "cut" of copyright-protected content comes shortly after the approval of the draft Intellectual Property Law. So many Internet users and tweeters believe that something had to do with the decision by 'seriesyonkis'. On social media, as could not be otherwise, this decision by the SeriesYonkis administrators has caused great uproar and generated numerous comments both for and against what happened. For the moment, no official reaction to this decision by SeriesYonkis has yet taken place and we remain awaiting a formalization of the change in operations of the popular web page.
