Google buys DeepMind

Google continues its aggressive acquisition of home automation and robotics companies, as well as now artificial intelligence, and has announced that it is buying the artificial intelligence company DeepMind Technologies. Apparently, the price paid is around 400 million dollars. Founded in London in 2012 by Demis Hassabis, Shane Legg and Mustafa Suleiman, DeepMind uses general-purpose learning algorithms for simulations, e-commerce and games. Google, which is working on projects including driverless cars and robots, has become increasingly concerned with artificial intelligence applications. In 2012, the search engine hired Ray Kurzweil, considered one of the leading experts in the field, and in May a partnership with NASA and several universities was announced to launch the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
